Workshops

Climate Cafe

1-1.5 hour group intervention focused on emotions related to the climate and other intersecting crises. Involves guided sharing, use of nature objects, and facilitated interaction with others. A helpful first experience for groups curious about working with climate emotions, or as an optional workshop during a larger gathering. 5-12 participants.

Earth Listening Circle

1-1.5 hour outdoor group intervention focused on connection with the more-than-human world. Involves a basic ritual structure, solo time in nature, and guided sharing. A good fit for groups looking to feel more resourced and connected in their work, or as an optional workshop during a larger gathering. In-person only.

Grief Ritual

1-hour to full-day ritual to contact and begin metabolizing personal and collective grief. Involves a formal ritual structure adapted from the work of Francis Weller. Ideally offered in person but can be adapted for Zoom. Please contact me to inquire about tailoring this offering to your group.

The Work That Reconnects

Body of work developed by deep ecologist Joanna Macy. Group exercises work through gratitude, pain for our world, seeing with new/ancient eyes, and going forward. Workshops are 4 hours to full-day, with breaks. Some short standalone exercises can be offered to facilitate group processing at a larger event. Ideally offered in person but can be adapted for Zoom and split across multiple weeks. Please contact me to inquire about tailoring this offering to your group.

Case Consultation (mental health professionals only)

1-1.5 hour facilitated case consultation focused on building clinicians' confidence providing climate/polycrisis-aware therapy. A good fit for group practices seeking supplemental training and support for their staff.

*"Staying with the trouble is an evocative phrase from feminist theorist Donna Haraway. Curious? Check out my Resources page.

"Dr. Nelson supports individuals navigating anxiety, despair, and loss in the face of climate change, she offers a grounded and compassionate space for healing and resilience in the era of ecological uncertainty."
